PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an impingement cooling device which can be installed in a narrow place and which can cool a portion which cannot be subjected to cooling air directly, and to provide a cooling method of the same. SOLUTION: The extension impingement cooling structure for cooling the exterior of an air supply plenum 108 includes an inner wall 102, an impingement sheet 104, a group of supports 106 which hold the inner wall 102 while separating the same from the impingement sheet 104, and a baffle 112 supported between the inner wall 102 and the impingement sheet 104. The baffle 112 includes a collection plenum region 150 in which the impingement cooling air flowing from the air supply plenum 108 is stored, and a channel 154 communicating with the collection plenum and extending separately from the air supply plenum 108.
