INDICATOR ATTACHMENT ARRANGEMENT FOR GARMENT HANGERS

A moulded plastic garment hanger (102) having an improved indicator attachment arrangement is described. The garment hanger includes an indicia display area having a cavity (114) for receiving a removable indicia plate (116) therewithin. The indicia plate is removably secured to the cavity with an undercut dovetail on either side of the cavity and a detent mechanism that latches the indicia plate into engagement with the hanger. The indicia plate is resiliently deformable and includes a planar area for printing, imprinting or embossing logos or size indicia thereon. The body of the hanger (104) also includes an opening for insertion of a tool between the body and the resilient plate to flex the removable indicia and release it from the detent and the dovetail sidewalls. The present invention contemplates automated as well as manual removal of the indicator from the hanger.
