A rotary filter comprises a number of discshaped filter elements secured to a hollow shaft 1 and each divided into at least two sections each surrounded by a frame 4, Fig. 1 (not shown) and each section clamped, between adjacent collars 3 of pertaining hub bodies 2 mounted on the shaft, by a nut 16, pressing against the collar of the adjacent hub body and screwed on a threaded stud 10 projecting from the side of the disc section, and a plate 11 seated on a conical shoulder 12 of the stud. To remove a disc section, the nut 16 is screwed on to the stud head 15 and the stud is unscrewed axially from the section by a wrench (not shown), inserted in a hole 17 in the head 15. Each filter element consists of two plates 5 having projections 6 and welded to a semi-circular ring support 7, and a wire mesh sheet 8 placed on each side of the element, the whole disc section and support 7 being enclosed by a filter cloth 9.</p> |
