PURPOSE: A system for evaluating pronunciation of a foreign language is provided to compare pronunciation of a non-native speaker with pronunciation of a native speaker, and to statistically calculate compared results, then to numerically express fluency of the non-native speaker, thereby minimizing errors of a pronunciation evaluation. CONSTITUTION: A database portion(110) consists of a voice analyzer(102,104) for analyzing voices of a non-native speaker or a native speaker and extracting voice featuring data, and a feature data statistical DB(112) of the native speaker, a feature data statistical DB of the non-native speaker(114), and a theory value DB of feature data(116). A comparative analyzer(120) performs a PDF(Probability Density Function) and a DTW(Dynamic Time Warping) function, and applies weight for featuring factors. A logical determiner(130) finally evaluates pronunciation of the non-native speaker. |
