PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the attachment and growing of clinker on an exposed face inside a furnace before happens. SOLUTION: The cover 27 having a fitting projection part 28 on its front side is formed on a manhole 14 of a boiler furnace to close the manhole by fitting the cover from the outside of the furnace. The front end face of the fitting projection part 28 has a cooling panel structure formed by connecting cooling pipes 29 by a fin 30 in a plane. The upper end and the lower end of each cooling pipe 29 are connected with an upper header pipe 32 and a lower header pipe 34 mounted on a steam discharge pipe 37 and a steam introduction pipe 38 supported by a cover body 36 mounted at the back side of the fitting projection part 28. The cover body 36 is detachably mounted to a flange of the furnace outer end of a wall box mounted outside a furnace wall 4 while surrounding the manhole 14, in a state that the manhole 14 is closed by the fitting projection part 28, and cooling steam 31 is circulated in the cooling pipes 29 to cool the front end face of the fitting projection part 28 as the in-furnace exposed face to a required temperature.
