PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a repeater capable of easily transferring AV data between different networks. SOLUTION: The repeater connected to a first and a second network collects at least one of the addresses of a terminal, a content that the terminal has, and attribute information from the terminal on the first network, sets up a connection on the first network to transmit the AV data that is transmitted from a transmission terminal on the first network to a receiving terminal on the second network, requests transmission of the AV data to the transmission terminal, and sets up a channel on the second network to send the AV data that is transmitted from the transmission terminal to the reception terminal. When the AV data, transmitted from the transmission terminal using the connection with a data format that depends on the first network, is received, its format is converted into a data format that depends on the second network and transmitted to the receiving terminal using the channel.
