PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide polyurethane elastic fiber that has excellent anti-chlorine embrittlement and excellent heat-set properties, particularly can suitably be used for swimming suits. SOLUTION: This invention is a polyurethane-urea polymer and a polyurethane elastic fiber formed from a polyurethane polymer. In addition, the polyurethane elastic fiber includes a half hindered phenol compound that bears at least one of a half hindered hydroxyphenyl group and has a molecular weight of about≥300 and an inorganic chlorine deterioration inhibitor. The content of the half hindered phenol compound is 0.15 to 3% wt., the content of the inorganic chlorine embrittlement inhibitor is 0.1 to 10% wt. and the content of the polyurethane polymer is 3 to 97% wt.
