PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base material film of a filter for a plasma display panel which has small coloration while maintaining deterioration preventing performance for infrared-ray absorbing coloring matter, has superior productivity without process contamination due to roll staining, and also has superior adhesive strength for an infrared-ray absorbing layer and a hard coat layer. SOLUTION: In this ultraviolet-ray absorptive polyester film, (1) a polyester film base material is a biaxially oriented laminated polyester film base material which has a laminated structure of three or more layers, (2) easy adhesion layers are formed on both the surfaces of the base material film and (3) at least an intermediate layer contains an ultraviolet-ray absorbing agent; and (4) light absorptivity and adhesive strength satisfy abs(≤380)≥2, adH≥85, and adNIR≥85, and (5) the thickness of one outermost layer is 3 to 15% of the overall thickness. Here, abs(≤380) represents light absorptivity at a≤380 nm wavelength, adH represents adhesive strength when photosetting acrylic coat layers are provided on the easy adhesion layer, and adNIR represents adhesive strength when a near infrared-ray absorbing layers are formed on the easy adhesion layers.
