PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a preservation and restoration method for paper data, with which even paper data not suitable for aqueous treatment are aqueously treated. SOLUTION: A preservation and restoration solution which is supplied from a solution storage container 26 for preservation and restoration and discharged from a solution discharge opening is ground and micronized by air jetted from a gas jet nozzle to spray the fine particle of the preservation and restoration solution by a fine particle producing nozzle 16. The fine particle of the preservation and restoration solution jetted from the fine particle producing nozzle 16 is passed through a guide member 14 and led to the lower part of a fine particle classification container 10. The fine particle of the preservation and restoration solution led to the lower part of the fine particle classification container 10 is passed through fine particle passage holes 20b, 22b and 24b attached to fine particle selection plates 20, 22 and 24 and gradually float in the fine particle classification container 10. In the operation, the fine particles are selected and only fine particles having uniform particle diameters are discharged from the discharge part 28 of the fine particle classification container 10. The fine particles of the preservation and restoration solution discharged from the discharge part 28 are sprayed upon paper data for object preservation and restoration. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
