PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an electrolytic capacitor, in which the capacitance characteristics can be enhanced stably by enhancing the fixing properties of dopant, as much as possible. SOLUTION: When a solid electrolytic layer is formed on an anode on which a dielectric layer is formed, a pretreatment solution, containing only a dopant and a monomer solution containing both a monomer and the dopant are used as a solution for immersing the anode. That is, the anode is immersed into the pretreatment solution containing only a dopant and then immersed into the monomer solution, containing both the monomer and the dopant. Since the fixing properties of dopant to the dielectric layer can be enhanced, doping rate can be enhanced stably and since the fixing properties of dopant to dielectric polymer are also enhanced, based on enhancement in fixing properties of dopant to the dielectric layer, doping ratio can be stably enhanced also in this viewpoint.
