<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal whose power consumption is reduced by performing power supply control. <P>SOLUTION: Power to a tuner 30a is intermittently supplied at a predetermined time interval in a power saving mode. If the reception level from the tuner 30a to a level detecting section 16a is not less than a predetermined level, a determining section 16c allows a selection control section 16d to output a selection signal to a selecting section 27 so that power to an OFDM I/F30b and an OFDM demodulator 31 may be turned on. If the error rate from the OFDM demodulator 31 to an error rate detecting section 16b is not more than the predetermined level, the section 16c allows the section 16d to output a selection signal to the section 27 so that power to a decoder section 13, a display section 20 and a speaker 21 may be turned on.
