<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a product of nuts made into small pieces and a method for making nuts into small pieces. <P>SOLUTION: Raw nuts are rapidly cooled by ultra cryogenic liquefied gas to cause cracks in the raw nuts and the raw material nuts with cracks are collapsed and parted from the cracks to obtain the product of nuts made into small pieces. After returned to ordinary temperature, the product of nuts is rapidly cooled again to cause cracks and is collapsed from the cracks to obtain the product of nuts made into smaller pieces. The occurrence of cracks and the collapse are repeated desired times, thereby obtaining the product of nuts having desired size.
