<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color liquid crystal display wherein a standard white color can be displayed without adjusting transmission spectrum distribution of a color filter used for a liquid crystal and emission spectrum distribution of a white LED light source. <P>SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal display wherein a liquid crystal display element having color filters having a plurality of colors provided so as to correspond to each pixel is illuminated by using an illuminator having illumination light formed by performing additive color mixture of a plurality of light source beams, emission states of the plurality of light source beams are controlled according to a display state (a light or dark state) of a pixel corresponding to a region where a color filter having a specified color is formed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
