<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser output setting method of an optical disk recording reproducing device in which signals are recorded onto a disk by an optical pickup. <P>SOLUTION: The laser output setting method is for the optical disk recording reproducing device which is structured so that test signals are recorded in a trial writing area provided on a disk 1 while laser output is varied and the laser output that conducts recording operations is set based on the reproduced characteristics of the recorded test signals. When the recording operations of the test signals to the trial writing area are started, temperature of the optical pickup is detected and the laser output value of the recording start time is set based on the detected temperature. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
