<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal transfer image receiving sheet enabling formation of a high-quality image free of nonuniformity in density, omission of dots and embossing, and a manufacturing method thereof. <P>SOLUTION: The thermal transfer image receiving sheet is composed at least of a base film, a second porous layer constituted at least of high-heat-resistance hollow particles and a binder resin and a dye accepting layer, which are provided on one surface side of the base film, and of a first porous layer constituted of hollow particles and the binder resin, which is provided on the other surface side of the base film.
