PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foreign matter removing apparatus for a hydraulic power unit capable of removing foreign matter adhering to a waterwheel with a simple structure. SOLUTION: This foreign matter removing apparatus comprises a bypass pipe installed on the upstream and downstream sides of an impeller of the conduit and a screen device for foreign matter capture installed on the bypass pipe in a device having an impeller in it and is installed with a generator provided on the outside of a conduit. Water is usually passed through only the conduit for power generation. In removing foreign matter near the impeller, water is reversely passed through the bypass pipe. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
