Composite material and method of manufacturing the same

A composite material includes a thermoplastic resin, and silica glass spheres having a specific surface area of 0.5-10 m²/g. The composite material incorporates the silica glass spheres in an amount of 40% by volume or more. A method of manufacturing a composite material incorporating a thermoplastic resin and silica glass spheres manufactures the composite material which incorporates the silica glass spheres at a compounding ratio determined on a basis of a coefficient of linear expansion of the composite material at a singular point of the thermoplastic resin.
