Vaccine compositions comprising the 69K outer membrane protein of B pertussis (pertactin) having 10-100 mu g of 69K per 0.5 ml dose are described for the treatment of whooping cough infection. Also described are combination vaccines comprising 10-100 mu g of 69K per 0.5 ml, especially vaccines in which the 69K component is formulated with filamentous haemagglutinin (FHA) and pertussis toxoid (PT), optionally in combination with one or more other antigens such as hepatitis B surface antigen, Haemophilus influenzae b (Hib), injectable polio (IPV) and hepatitis A. Methods for preparing the vaccines are described.
