The device has a take up rail (1.1) with holding clips, where the device is fixed on either side of a ladder. A rung pipe/pin (5) is located on a profile pipe, so that the pipe can be turned in a threaded part. A sliding catch secures a container such as paint pails, and includes a bracket to receive a counter weight. Storage surface are integrated into the ladder at an upper end between side frames for storing tools and materials.
