<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting device that can efficiently convert a wavelength in a light emitting from a light emitting element by using a fluorescent substance and increase radiation intensity, and is superior in optical characteristic such as axial luminous intensity, luminance, color rendering properties, etc. <P>SOLUTION: The light emitting device 1 is provided with a substrate 2; a wiring conductor 2a; a reflection member 3 that is connected with the upper surface of the substrate 2 and wherein the placement part 3b of a light emitting element 6 is formed at the center of an upper main surface and a side wall as a reflection surface for reflecting light emitted from the light emitting element 6 is formed on the outer periphery of the upper main surface while surrounding the placement part 3b; the light emitting element 6 mounted on the placement part 3b; and a light transmitting member 4 that is provided inside the side wall so as to cover the light emitting element 6 and includes a fluorescent substance 5 for converting the wavelength of the light emitted from the light emitting element 6. The reflection member 3 is formed with a through hole 3a penetrating upper and lower main surfaces in the vicinity of the placement part 3b, and the electrode of the light emitting element 6 and the wiring conductor 2a on the upper surface of the substrate 2 are electrically connected with each other by a bonding wire 7 through the through hole 3a. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
