PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical switch in which oil does not flow in right and left directions when a moving side optical fiber is pushed down with a leaf spring for pushing down, thus the moving side optical fiber is not rocked right and left by the oil. SOLUTION: In the optical switch 16, the moving side optical fiber 2 is pushed down with the leaf spring for pushing down 14 which turns in a direction designated with an arrow b, the moving side optical fiber 2 is housed in a selected positioning groove 3a, butted and connected to a corresponding fixed side optical fiber 1. The environment of a positioning table 3 and the leaf spring for pushing down 14 is filled with the oil which serves as a refractive index matching agent. Side plates 13 which regulate the flow of the oil in right and left directions under the leaf spring for pushing down are provided on both sides of the leaf spring for pushing down 14. When the leaf spring for pushing down 14 is dropped at a high speed in the oil, the oil under the leaf spring for pushing down flows in the longitudinal direction of the leaf spring for pushing down because the oil is regulated by the right and left side plates 13. Thus, the moving side optical fiber 2 is not rocked right and left by the oil, and the moving side optical fiber 2 is correctly pushed down into the positioning groove 3a in which the fixing side optical fiber 1 exists.
