PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an input key and an input apparatus excellent in terms of cost and in terms of easiness of realization. SOLUTION: An input apparatus, which has at least one input key 10 with a plurality of information items to be inputted assigned, is provided with: a push detection part 36 for detecting a push on the input key 10; a direction detection part 38 for detecting a strain generated in the input key 10 when the push is detected, and for thereby detecting a direction of force applied on the input key 10; and a character determination part 40 for determining inputted information, based on the detected direction.
