PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for cleaning the internal surface of a vessel by detonation. SOLUTION: A shockwave cleaning apparatus cleans one or a plurality surfaces inside a vessel 200. Sensors 206 and 208 sense one or a plurality thermodynamic properties associated with the vessel 200. Control systems 214, 216, and 223 are coupled to an initiator and a fuel/oxidizer source 212 to control the firing of the apparatus responsive to inputs from the sensors 206 and 208.
