PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary damper with a less number of components, having reduced manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: The rotary damper comprises a vane 14 formed of a single member and rockingly provided in a fluid chamber 17 filled with viscose fluid. The front end of the vane 14 is inclined into an inclined face so that a portion 14d excluding a portion 14c near one face 14a existing at the front end is spaced greater from a peripheral face 17c of the fluid chamber 17 as tending to the side of the other face 14b.
