PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rainwater storage system for a dwelling house, which is good in space efficiency, inexpensively set up, and fitted for an ordinary house building. SOLUTION: The rainwater storage system for the dwelling house is set up such that an egg-shaped pipe 18 is functionally divided across a virtually drawn horizontal border line 24 into upper and lower divisions, i.e. a passage section 18b flowing rainwater therein, and a storage section 18c capable of storing a predetermined amount of rainwater therein. The passage section 18b has almost the same channel cross sectional area as that of an outlet opening 26a or an inlet opening 25a for flowing rainwater, and is set to a value in excess of a minimum cross sectional area that allows passage of rainwater, in order to lead rainwater from an individual catch basin 16 to another individual catch basin 16 arranged adjacent to the former one on a downstream side, or to a final catch basin 17 in a plot. Further the storage section 18c is arranged at a vertically lower portion of the passage section 18b in the channel cross sectional area of the egg-shaped pipe 18, and extends through almost the entire length of the egg-shaped pipe 18 in a lengthwise direction.
