PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stretchable nonwoven fabric having a clear embossing pattern formed therein and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: The stretchable nonwoven fabric has the clear embossing pattern formed therein. Furthermore, there is disclosed the stretchable nonwoven fabric characterized in that the nonwoven fabric is obtained by interlacing a crimpable conjugated fiber each component of which has at least a different melting starting temperature without fusing the fiber interlacing part of the embossing valley part of the nonwoven fabric. A method for production having a gist of carrying out the emboss processing of the nonwoven fabric in which the crimpable conjugated fiber each component of which has the different melting point is interlaced at a temperature without fusing the fiber is disclosed as a useful method for production thereof.
