PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silicone-based elastic adhesive for wood which has a low change in viscosity to temperature variations and gives adhesive strength comparable to conventional adhesives for wood. SOLUTION: The adhesive for wood essentially contains a diorganopolysiloxane having a hydroxy group or a hydrolyzable group at both ends of a molecular chain, and is prepared by blending a diorganopolysiloxane base having a specific composition with a predetermined amount of a specific calcium carbonate.
