PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shank structure achieving an excellent effect of a shank and a reduction in weight of a shoe. SOLUTION: An arch portion region of a sole includes an upper midsole 2 made of a flexible and elastic member and having a roll up portion 20 toward an inner upper side and an outer upper side, a center shank 41 disposed at a region between an inner arch part and an outer arch part of the arch portion region of the sole on the side of the bottom surface of the upper midsole 2, and having a Durometer D hardness of≥40 according to JIS K 7215 and a thickness of 0.8-2 mm, and side shanks 7 and 8 interposed between the center shank 41 and the upper midsole 2 in the arch portion region of the sole, partially overlapping with the center shank 41 while extending to the side of the roll up portion 20 of the upper midsole 2, and having a thickness of≤0.7 mm.
