摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignition control device for an internal combustion engine, for determining positive and reverse rotations based on a detection period of a rotation sensor signal and surely avoiding an ignition control in reverse rotation without increase in cost. SOLUTION: The ignition control device comprises: a rotation sensor 3 facing projections 11, 12 of a rotor 1; and a ignition timing control circuit 4 taking the rotation sensor signal R therein as a reference angle signal to output a drive signal P. A retard ignition control means in the ignition timing control circuit 4 measures a cycle of a specific section of the rotation sensor signal R and generates a drive signal P in response to the cycle of the specific section. A calculation means 46 in a retard ignition control means sets an estimation period receiving the next rotation sensor signal based on the specific section period, and validates only a signal input during the estimation period.
