<p>The inventive system comprises an NOx-trap (1) associated with catalyst forming means (2) integrated in the exhaust line (3) of a vehicle engine (4) associated with means (7, 8) which are provided with a common fuel supply manifold and adapted, by modifying the engine operation control parameters, in such a way the engine swings between lean mixture (9) and rich mixture (10) operations. Said system is characterised in that said supply means (7, 8) are adapted for defining three strategies (11, 12, 13) for controlling the lean mixture (9) operation of the engine and for swinging the engine between said different strategies in such a way that the trap (1) is maintained within a maximum efficient thermal range.</p> |
