A process for preparation of a copolyimide in which (A) at least one aromatic compound containing an F atom and/or a CF3 group, two dicarboxylic acid anhydride functions, (B) at least one aromatic compound with two amino groups and containing an F atom and/or a CF3 group, and (C) an aromatic diaminocarboxylic acid compound are copolymerized, and the copolymer obtained is crosslinked with (D) a polyol is new. A process for preparation of a copolyimide in which (A) at least one aromatic compound containing an F atom and/or a CF3 group, two dicarboxylic acid anhydride functions, (B) at least one aromatic compound with two amino groups and con taining an F atom and/or a CF3 group, and (C) an aromatic diaminocarboxylic acid compound are copolymerized, and the copolymer obtained is mixed with (D) a polyol, where the mole ratio of reaction partners A to D = 1:(0.5-0.95):(0.05-0.5):(0.025-0.25) and the amount of A is equal to the sum of (B) and (C). An Independent claim is included for a copolyimide obtained as above, e.g. as a membrane.
