The unit comprises a heat exchanger (3) which is mounted with its housing in a space (2) in which it can be slid-in or -out like a drawer. The sides of the unit, together with the sides of the space, in which the unit is mounted, form labyrinth seals (5). The labyrinth seals are formed by rims (8) and grooves (9) which run in the direction in which the unit is inserted. The rims and grooves engage with one another without touching. The labyrinth seals can also be formed by wavy surfaces at the side of the unit and at the sides of the space. The parts of the seals which lie at the sides of the space can be formed by separate strips which are mounted at the sides of the space.
