A biaxially stretched single-layer or multi-layer film structure for packaging exhibiting improved oxygen, flavor/odor, grease/oil and moisture barrier properties, having a thickness not more than 100µ. The structure has at least one layer formed of a thermoplastic matrix (F) comprising a polyolefin (F1)and/or a functionalized polyolefin (F2) and a dispersed polyamide phase (H) comprising an aliphatic nylon(co)polymer(H1) DEG and/or an amorphous nylon (co)polymer (H2) DEG component in a proportion of at least 5%.
