<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a soft magnetic alloy comprising fine crystal grains on a nanoscale which has high saturated magnetic flux density and low magnetic core loss, and whose production is facilitated, and to realize a high performance magnetic component obtained by using the same. <P>SOLUTION: The soft magnetic alloy has a composition expressed by the general formula: (Fe<SB>1-a</SB>Co<SB>a</SB>)<SB>100-y-b-c</SB>Mo<SB>y</SB>B<SB>b</SB>C<SB>c</SB>(atomic%); wherein, a, y, b and c satisfy 0.1≤a, 5≤y≤15, 2≤b≤15 and 2≤c≤15, respectively, and also satisfy 10≤y+b+c≤30, and has a structure in which a part or the whole is composed of crystal grains with a body-centered cubic structure having a mean particle diameter of ≤50 nm.
