<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor provided with a rotation detector, wherein packing and a plate are positioned where the reliability and pinching of the packing can be prevented, and sealing quality can be enhanced. <P>SOLUTION: The motor is so constructed that an enclosed space is formed by a detector cover 6, fixed to the anti-load-side bracket 7 of the motor; the packing 8 fixed on the detector cover 6; and the plate 9 fixed on the packing 8. The motor is provided in this space with the revolution detector, comprising a detector rotor 1 fit and fixed on the rotating shaft 2 of the motor protruded from the anti-load-side bracket 7; and a detector stator 3 supported on the rotating shaft 2 via a bearing 4. A plurality of projections 10 are disposed on the sealing face of the detector cover 6 mated with the packing 8, and holes 11 and 12 are formed in the packing 8 and the plate 9, at positions corresponding to the holes 11 and 12.
