PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roughing end mill which can be easily manufactured, can suppress stress concentration and repeated fatigue fracture, by which a breakage resistant strength can be significantly improved and the prolongment of a service lifetime can be realized in roughing. SOLUTION: The roughing end mill having a corrugated blade shape 1 has the following characteristics. A rising wall face 3, which is inclined to the shank direction from the corrugated blade shape, is provided across land widths to the end part of the shank 2 side of an effective blade length of the end mill. The axial length of the rising wall face is gradually elongated from the blade side to the heel side of the land width. An inclination angle of the rising wall face to the axial center is provided equally to or larger than the angle of a tangent when the corrugated blade shape is virtually extended in an axial cross-section view of the end mill.
