PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a supervisory image recording system which can be made more lower in price and more simpler in its operation/maintenance. SOLUTION: The image storage system includes an image acquisition apparatus for digitizing an image photographed by a camera and acquiring the digitized image, and an image storage apparatus including a storage device for storing the image, which are interconnected by a network. The image acquisition apparatus includes a request means for requesting the image storage apparatus to collect images on the basis of a prescribed capacity of a first storage device for storing acquired images, a free capacity of the first storage device, and an operating state, and the image storage apparatus includes: a collection means for collecting the images stored in the first storage device via the network according to a request by the request means; a second storage device with a capacity greater than the capacity of the first storage device for storing the images collected by the collection means; and a delete means for instructing the first storage device to delete the images stored in the second storage device.
