PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the pulsation damping action of a surge tube effective even when the average pressure of a line inclines toward the negative side or positive side. SOLUTION: One or more rings with smooth surfaces serving as membrane receiving rings for the membrane of the surge tube 5 are fixedly arranged in the intermediate position of the surge tube 5 serving as a buffer for damping the pulsation of flow and pressure. The expansible membrane of the surge tube is allowed to abut on the ring to support membrane pressure by an intermediate ring 10 from the inside of the membrane when the average pressure of the line 3 inclines toward the negative side rather than environmental atmospheric pressure. In a practical state, the variable effective volume variation inside the membrane can thereby be made larger than the case of not mounting the intermediate ring 10. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
