PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure for supporting a boom by one boom cylinder arranged just under the boom, in a hydraulic excavator of a type having a lifting step for climbng an upper revolving body, and particularly rooting a hydraulic pipe to the boom side. SOLUTION: This construction machine such as the hydraulic excavator has a boom derricked by a boom lift cylinder by pivoting the base end on the upper revolving body revolvably installed on a lower traveling body, a base part of projecting a step on the front side in a lower position or on the substantially same plane as a body upper surface by lowering in a step height shape from the body upper surface of the upper revolving body by opposing a cab via the boom, an arm pivoted on the tip side of the boom and pivotally moved by an arm cylinder, and an attachment such as a bucket arranged on the tip of the arm. The boom is supported by the one boom cylinder from just under the boom in its midway position. The hydraulic pipe for the cylinder is arranged to be rooted to the boom side.
