Balance machine (101) has a measurement spindle (110) on which a rotor, especially a vehicle wheel (112) is mounted. The machine has sensors (116, 118), measurement electronics (120) for signal evaluation and a display device (122) for display of the evaluation results calculated by the measurement electronics. A spindle driving generator (130) is configured to convert stored rotation energy in the spindle and wheel into electrical energy and thus to act as a braking device for the spindle once wheel balancing is completed.
