<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a belt unit and an image forming apparatus in which the parallelism of rollers across which an endless belt is laid in a tensioned condition is maintained and the endless belt is prevented from being oblique as a result. <P>SOLUTION: The belt unit 10 is equipped with the endless belt 4, and a drive roller 5 and an idle roller 6 across which the belt 4 is laid in a tensioned condition. The drive roller 5 is supported by a belt frame 8 through a bearing 2, and the idle roller 6 is supported by an idle roller frame 16 through bearing members 10L and 10R. The idle roller frame 16 is supported in the belt frame 8 so as to relatively turnable centering on a turning shaft (boss part 8d) regulated at the center position in the width direction of the belt frame 8, so that the idle roller frame 16 is prevented from being influenced by the twist of the belt frame 8. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
