<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide fluorescent silica glass which is an easily manufactured fluorescent substance which absorbs ultraviolet rays and emits fluorescence within visible range, especially the fluorescent silica glass which emits fluorescence having intensity positively correlated with ultraviolet ray illuminance and shows little deterioration through exposure to ultraviolet irradiation. <P>SOLUTION: The fluorescent silica glass emits fluorescence having a peak within a wavelength range of 500-570 nm when exposed to ultraviolet rays within a wavelength range of 150-300 nm, wherein the copper concentration is adjusted to 1-400 ppm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
