PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method for a photocatalyst-containing layer substrate having a photocatalyst-containing layer capable of efficiently forming patterns with mutually largely different characteristics, or pattern formed bodies, and a composition for forming the photocatalyst-containing layer used for the photocatalyst-containing layer.

SOLUTION: The composition for forming the photocatalyst-containing layer contains at least the photocatalyst and metal fine particles, and is used for forming the photocatalyst-containing layer for decomposing or denaturing organic matter by the action of the photocatalyst caused by energy radiation, disposed with given spaces from the organic matter.
