PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a loading mistake and a deterioration in a function for a video signal converter capable of updating the function by upgrading the version of incorporated software by performing format conversion of a video signal by executing the the software. SOLUTION: A video signal format conversion means 12 conducts the format conversion by the first program software stored in a first storage region 15a and the version up of the software stored in the first storage means 15a by the second software stored in a second storage region 15b. The version is upgraded by the second software after detecting the normal version up for the first software. Consequently, a method is actualized for the version up for a program for the video signal format converter so that no mistake may be found in the version up and countermeasures for the mistake are facilitated.
