PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-diagnostic function of a hard disk drive, a disk device, and a control device. SOLUTION: A micro computer comprises an instruction receiving section receiving a self-diagnostic instruction and a parameter of the self-diagnostic instruction from an information processing device via a hard disk controller, a memory section memorizing the parameter in the memory section, a diagnosis execution section reading data memorized from a starting LBA to a terminating LBA of a magnetic disk or writing data from the starting LBA to the terminating LBA of the magnetic disk by referring to the starting LBA and the terminating LBA being set up on the parameter, and a test result memory section memorizing data showing whether reading or writing from the starting LBA to the terminating LBA is being executed, the reading or writing is terminated without detecting any error, or the reading or writing is terminated by detecting an error.
