PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous polyurethane dispersions containing a urethane polymer, to provide a method for producing the same, and to provide a method for using the same. SOLUTION: This aqueous polyurethane dispersion containing the urethane polymer having a weight-average molecular weight in a range of 20,000 to 80,000 is prepared by controlling the weight-average molecular weight of the polymer through reaction of an isocyanate terminated prepolymer with at least one kind of chain terminator and/or keeping a molar ratio (N/COOH) of an amine in a neutralizing agent to an acidic functional group in an isocyanate reactive compound at about 0.5:1 to about 1:1.
