PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new N-sulfenylthiazolidine-2,4-dione compound, and to provide a new method for producing the same. SOLUTION: The new N-sulfenylthiazolidine-2,4-dione compound is represented by the general formula(A)(wherein, R<SP>1</SP>is a group or atom selected from 1-8C chain alkyl and 3-8C cyclic alkyl, 1-8C alkoxy, 2-12C alkoxycarbonyl, halogen atom and nitro; in the case of a plurality of R<SP>1</SP>s, they may be the same as or different from each other; and n is an integer of 0 or 1-5). The method for producing the new N-sulfenylthiazolidine-2,4-dione compound comprises carrying out a reaction between a sulfenylating agent and a specific thiazolidine-2,4-dione compound.
