METHOD OF MANUFACTURING ALKALINE EARTH METAL OXIDE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a high quality alkaline earth metal oxide from an alkaline metal carbonate by which the manufacture efficiency of the alkaline earth metal oxide is improved to remarkably reduce manufacture cost even if an alkaline earth metal carbonate is not fired at a high temperature such as that in a conventional technology and the energy efficiency is also remakably improved. SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the alkaline earth metal oxide is carried out by using the alkaline earth metal carbonate as a staring raw materia and firing the alkaline earth metal carbonate pulverized to be fine at 330-960°C while bringing the alkaline earth metal carbonate into contact with nitrogen oxide and/or magnesium nitrate powder.
