PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a peeling device capable of varying the angle of incidence of sensor light radiated towards a label from a reflection type light sensor for detecting a label and detecting the label with high accuracy also when the label is transparent. SOLUTION: In the peeling device, a label detector, namely a sensor cover 29, can be attached or detached from/to a front cover when the front cover is released, and is mounted so that the longitudinal direction of the sensor cover 29 is located in parallel with the label 1 projected from a peeling plate 14 and held and orthogonally to the conveying direction of the label 1. In a mounted state of the label detector to the front cover, the label detector is rotatable about the axial center of sensor cover 29, and the angle of incidence of the sensor light radiated towards the label 1 peeled from the reflection type light sensor 28 can be varied.
