PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surgical treatment instrument for performing a treatment with high efficiency by eliminating nonuniformity in heat supply to tissue since a grip force to be imposed on the tissue is fixed in a longitudinal direction. SOLUTION: The instrument includes: a pair of jaws 12, 13 to be opened/closed, having a pivoted pin 9 at each distal end; and a heat generation blade 15 which is arranged in at least one of the jaws 12, 13. At least one of the jaws 12, 13 is provided with a pivoted pin 17. The instrument also comprises a heat insulation frame 16 to be movable in the grip direction of the jaws 12, 13 with the pivoted pin 17 as a center. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
